Job Objective:

We are seeking a talented and versatile 3D Generalist to join our dynamic team. This role demands a highly skilled individual who can contribute across multiple aspects of our 3D production pipeline, from texturing and shading to lighting and modeling. The ideal candidate will bring a strong artistic vision, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to enhance our projects with photo-realistic and creatively inspired visual elements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in the creation of photo-realistic tileable textures and hand-painted custom maps.
• Develop shaders from existing templates and/or from scratch, in collaboration with the 2D Look Development Artist to standardize mattes for each set.
• Lead on set under the direction of Leads and Supervisors as needed, ensuring high-quality outcomes in line with production requirements.
• Create photo-realistic lighting for CG characters, organic and structural environments, and props, adhering closely to the artistic vision and technical specifications of the project.
• Work collaboratively on the development of all visual aspects of our products, contributing innovative solutions and improvements to the 3D pipeline.
• Responsible for creating effective and efficient 3D models of natural and architectural environments, ensuring they meet the project’s aesthetic and technical standards.

Selection Criteria:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a 3D Animator or related role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting.
• A relevant degree such as a Bachelor’s or Associate’s in Animation, Design, Art, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Maya, Photoshop, Shotgun, Unity, and V-ray is essential.
• Advanced skills in 3D modeling and texturing for VFX.
• Experience with Adobe After Effects and other compositing software packages.
• Knowledge of color space, including how and when to apply it to achieve desired visual effects.
• A strong understanding of the principles of animation, physics, and photorealism as they apply to 3D modeling and rendering.
