Job Objective:

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Texture Artist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of material properties, and the ability to create realistic and compelling textures that breathe life into environments, characters, and objects. You will play a crucial role in defining the aesthetic and sensory experiences of our games, films, or animations, making them more immersive and engaging.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and the creative team to understand project briefs and deliver high-quality textures that align with the overall vision.
• Engage with the director and cinematographer to ensure texturing meets the desired finishes and integrates seamlessly with the visual narrative.
• Conduct thorough research on reference materials to ensure textures are authentic to the game’s or film’s aesthetic and genre.
• Work in tandem with the post-production and visual effects teams to ensure textures integrate flawlessly with live footage or CGI.
• Continuously develop and refine textures throughout the production process, adhering to high standards of design and photorealism.
• Partner with animators and modelers to create textures that complement each object and character, enhancing the visual impact and gameplay experience.
• Produce a wide range of textures, from natural elements to fantastical creations, ensuring diversity and engagement for the audience.
• Utilize advanced UV mapping techniques to ensure textures are applied accurately and effectively.
• Maintain consistency across all game or film elements, contributing to a cohesive and immersive world.

Selection Criteria:

• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in texture creation, with a focus on photorealism and a wide range of materials.
• Training in computer graphics, 3D animation, or graphic design, with a solid foundation in the principles of visual language.
• Proven experience with texturing 3D models, including knowledge of modeling rigs and an understanding of how textures contribute to the overall aesthetics and realism of the project.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Mari, Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop, Mudbox, Maya, and Zbrush.
• Ability to draw inspiration from real-world references and translate that into digital art.
• Knowledge of anatomy, geographical elements, architectural finishes, textile movement, and other relevant material properties is essential.
